If the words "kids" and "club" feature in your checklist of requirements when contemplating your next holiday, we can highly recommend Martinhal on the south western tip of Portugal.
It's a resort on the last bit of mainland before Brazil, and it's absolutely brilliant if you've got children: masses to do, fantastic food, seriously comfy beds (we know, we're obsessed and needn't have bothered taking our own pillows!) and only 2 hours' flight from London. It's staffed by exceptionally nice people who were quite used to babysitting and dealing with the aftermath of kids' meals. So if you're a knackered parent in need of a break, give this place a whirl - it's a goodun. x
