Are you hunting for a double bed?

If you are, remember that loads of companies offer double beds which are actually a non-standard UK size. They're often 140 cm wide instead of 135 cm.  We think this is a mug's game as it means you have to order their mattress and bedding to go with their so-called double bed. Is a double bed the right size?

As a general rule of thumb we always tell people to try and get as big a bed as possible. Double beds are quite practical and are particularly popular in London where people tend to live in smaller flats. A double bed works well for people who don’t have a lot of room but want more sleeping space than a single bed. And it’s true that the bed frames aren’t too overbearing in small to medium size rooms. And with more width than single beds, double beds are also a logical step up from children’s beds for growing teenagers.
