Assistant Quality Control Technician

This key role supports all warehouse QC activities. As part of the Loaf QC team the role will focus on the delivery of 1st class customer product support, being our last QC check before customers receive product. Product areas covered by this role include upholstery, cabinetry, homeware and lighting.

Quality control duties include:

  • Inbound AQL QC inspection of products for safety, compliance and product quality
  • Reviewing, feedback and collation on in-line and end-of-line China and India QC reports
  • Checking and reviewing stock where a quality issue has been highlighted
  • Assisting with the assessment of new samples and initial POs of new product ranges
  • Reworking products that have identified faults
  • Assists with reworks and requests appropriate resources
  • Fully unpacking and repackaging items after assessment
  • Reporting any QC safety or product quality issues
  • Communicating effectively with all relevant parties within the business
  • Assist in the review and signing off inline and final inspection reports prior to goods being shipped from suppliers
  • Supports final sign off new product development meetings

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Control:

  • Checks inbound product is checked to agreed standards
  • Supports in ensuring escalated customer product issues are resolved quickly
  • Escalates safety, compliance and product quality issues to senior QA team
  • Supports reworks of faulty stock
  • Supports in maintaining clear visibility of the status of QC affected stock in the business
  • Supports in providing evidence for timely approval for all supplier credit claims

Skills and Attributes:

  • Preferred previous experience of working with Upholstery, Cabinetry and lighting
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • The ability to analyse report findings and deliver meaningful results from them
  • A methodical approach
  • The ability to communicate effectively to all areas of the business, both UK and international.
  • An understanding of QC processes
  • A good degree of numeracy
  • Good product knowledge of product preferred
  • Able to multi task and work to deadlines
  • Excellent use of initiative and problem solving with the ability to take ownership of your own workload
  • A great team worker
  • A good working knowledge of Excel and Word
