Product Manager

At Loaf we make insanely comfy sofas, beds and other laid-back wares that help people lead happier, more relaxed lives. We're looking for a Product Manager to take ownership of the website.

You'll define the problems that lie behind the feedback we receive from customers and colleagues. Whether you derive insights from qualitative or quantitative insights, you'll be responsible for ensuring we take a "problem-first" approach to all our work and go back to first principles where necessary to challenge how our website works.

You'll need to show a good understanding of the wider e-commerce, marketing and payments technology landscape as well as having experience in managing hosting infrastructure.

Throughout our journey, our commercial nous has been imperative to continued growth. You will be expected to continuously contribute to the commercial growth and operational efficiency of the organisation through the development of our website and its infrastructure.


Thought leadership

  • You'll challenge the status quo and perceived wisdom with how we use our website. We expect you to think critically and take decisive and appropriate action.
  • You'll be expected to demonstrate a deep understanding of the e-commerce and marketing technology landscapes, with experience in implementing third-party integrations

Facilitating and coordinating

  • We expect you to align stakeholders around a definition of a problem, a vision for how to move forward and creating a plan for how to deliver a shared vision
  • As you define problems, you'll understand the commercial impact and opportunities available before clearly communicating the case to senior leadership
  • You'll be expected to facilitate and host UX, scoping and road-mapping workshops with stakeholders from across the organisation
  • Coordinating between business stakeholders including representatives from marketing, creative, merchandising, as well as with business analysts, solutions architects and infrastructure engineers
  • Managing relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, helping to identify common goals, resolve conflicts and building a team in a matrix structure

Project management & delivery

  • Owning the maintenance and execution of our web development roadmap
  • Development sprint planning and managing backlog of development tasks
  • Resource planning with partner agency and internal teams
  • Project management for delivery of new features, upgrades etc
  • Owning user testing for our website and its various integrations across the organisation
  • Conduct risk assessments and manage risk mitigation with rollback planning for new implementations
  • Communicating priorities, risks and decisions that need to be made to the senior leadership team

Working with partners

  • Work with external partners on new integrations across payments, operations, e-commerce and automation of customer communication
  • You'll be the first point of contact for all of our key technology partners when it comes to our website architecture and integrations

Continuous optimisation

  • You'll be responsible for measuring the performance of new implementations and taking the necessary corrective actions and continuous optimisation
  • Proactively identify areas of improvement with website performance, technical errors and behavioural insights using our various web analytics platforms


You absolutely must have, or be, the following:

  • 5-years' experience as a product manager, preferably in digital or e-commerce with an emphasis on identifying and scoping solutions to improve website user experience
  • A mastery of the principles of kick-a** web design, conversion rate optimisation and user experience (you may even be thinking about writing a book about it)
  • Web analytics wizardry, ideally using Google Analytics
  • A real knack for taking complex problems and devising solutions that are beautifully simple and easy to grasp
  • You'll have a scientific mindset and enjoy testing things so we know exactly what is working and what needs to be improved upon
  • Confidence in turning data into insights and proactively executing on the decisions we make as a consequence
  • Excellent communication skills with a natural ability to connect with a mix of personalities from techies to design gurus to operational peeps
  • A real can-do attitude with a willingness to get your hands dirty, get on with the job and make great things happen
  • High attention to detail and commitment to deliver outstanding work to agreed deadlines
  • And, most importantly of all, you absolutely must be an all-round good egg, with a real can-do willingness to get on with the job and make great things happen
