Shouldn’t I try out some beds or sofas in a shop before buying?
No, we’ve done all the testing for you. We exist so that you no longer have to waste hours in the shops.
How come you’re cheaper than the high street?
Because we don’t have expensive shops to run. You pay for our products, not the gloss.
Are you good value?
Yes. For a fraction of the cost you’ll get a bed, sofa or mattress that would normally be £1500 to £4000 on the high street. And you won’t have lost time trawling the shops and then waiting 12 weeks for it to arrive.
Is delivery for beds, sofas and mattresses free?
Yes, if you live in or around London. Otherwise we ask for a small contribution. Please check your postcode below for pricing.
What about delivering smaller items on their own?
If you're only after small items like bed linen or lamps we send these out around the UK mainland via our parcel carrier for £4.95 per shipment. Medium-sized items like chairs are sent via parcel carrier for £15 per shipment.
Do you do more than just deliver?
Yes, we'll install your bed, sofa or any large item and take away the wrapping for free. And for a small fee we'll even take away your old bed/sofa for recycling. Just let us know when you order.
Please bear in mind that any small (e.g bedside tables) or medium (desks) size items delivered as part of a large delivery will not be assembled nor will the wrapping be taken away by our delivery chaps. This means, you can easily pop it back into the post should you change your mind.
Small and medium size items ordered on their own will be delivered by a courier.
What happens if I don’t like my bed, sofa or mattress?
Just let us know within fourteen days of receiving it and we’ll collect it and give you all your money back (including any delivery costs). We do ask though that you hand it back in pristine condition and with the protective mattress cover unopened. For smaller items like bedside tables, just send these back to us wrapped as securely as possible via a recorded mail service which can handle larger items.
How can I pay?
We accept all major debit and credit cards except American Express.
Are my bank details safe with you?
Yes, very. Our system is run by Sage Pay and Thawte and is extremely secure.
Can I order if I live abroad?
Yes, it's very easy. Just give us a call on 0044 (0) 208 968 8843 or send us an email and we'll put you in contact with a good transport company. Once you order we will then take your items to them so they can deliver to you.
How soon can you deliver?
For items that are in stock it's usually around a week's wait. For other items that are made to order we deliver within 10 days of it arriving in our warehouse (often less).
Do you deliver on Saturdays?
Our delivery chaps do deliver on some Saturdays. If you're interested in this please mention to them when they book your delivery date with you.
Do you have a showroom?
Yes, we have a nice big showroom at the foot of Notting Hill in London where we have most of our wares on display, which you're more than welcome to jump around on.
Is it true that lots of companies sell weird bed sizes so that you have to buy their mattresses and linen too?
Yes, which we think is really annoying. We only sell standard UK sizes so you can mix and match things over time.

Didn't you used to be called The Sleep Room?
Yes, we changed our name to Loaf in October 2012 as we thought it would be weird to continue calling ourselves The Sleep Room when we had started to sell things like sofas and kitchen tables as well as beds. Read the full story here.
