Winner of our patriotic pottery competition

Thanks to everyone who got involved in last week's competition....
Thanks to everyone who got involved in
last week's competition to win one of our lovely new
lamps.
We picked the winner out of a hat. Well done, Lauren Hadden. She
correctly managed to tell us what a "saggar maker's bottom knocker"
did in traditional pottery-making.
The answer was of course:
b) The person who makes the base of a widget which holds the
pottery in place whilst in the kiln.
You can see one of the "bottom knockers" at work on the right of
the picture. These days there's a machine to do the dirty work, but
we wish our jobs had such interesting titles!
