Product Recall: Raindrop Wall Light

We urge customers who have a RAINDROP wall light to immediately stop using it and contact Loaf to arrange the replacement of the product.

The safety of our customers is very important to us. Loaf is recalling all RAINDROP wall lights due to a potential risk. Our testing has found that cables can become damaged over time and lead to the metal body of the light becoming electrically live creating a potential safety hazard.

This product was sold through the Loaf website, brochures and our Shacks from September 2018 to June 2019.

How did this happen?

When we launched the products, we relied on testing and certification provided by an internationally recognised laboratory. Following a report of a fraying cable we retested the item with a different UK-based laboratory who confirmed the defect.

What is the cause of this specific issue?

The spherical pivot joint used for repositioning the wall light can, over time, damage the electrical cable inside it. Through use the cable can become damaged and this can lead to the body of the wall light becoming electrically live creating the potential for electric shock

What action is Loaf taking to ensure this doesn't happen with future products?

In addition to initial testing completed in the country of origin when a product is produced, we will also have all our light products tested on an annual basis. We will also carry out spot checks above and beyond recognised industry norms.
