How to look after your bottle
Step 1
Don't fill it straight from the tap. Stick to kettle water instead.
Step 2
Keep it away from oil, grease and hot surfaces.
Step 3
When it's not in use empty it completely and store it (stopper removed) somewhere cool, dry and out of direct sunlight. And best not to stack anything on top of it.
How to safely fill your bottle
- When using it for the first time, start with cold water to check everything's in perfect nick before adding hot water.
- Always check the bottle and stopper for any signs of wear or damage.
- Boil your kettle and let the water cool for at least five minutes before pouring.
- Hold the bottle by the neck, keep it upright, and fill it slowly - no one likes hot water splashes. Fill it to about two-thirds full (no more).
- Gently press out any air by lowering the bottle onto a flat surface until a little water appears at the opening.
- Pop the stopper back in and twist it finger-tight. No need to overdo it.
- Lastly, make sure there's no hot water left in the funnel before you properly settle in.
A few quick warnings
- Only ever use boiled (then cooled) water inside your bottle.
- Never sit or lie on it like a cushion. It's for hugging and curling up with.
- If it's being used by children, make sure an adult's keeping an eye and that the water isn't too hot.
- Don't overfill it as it might end up bursting.
- Even with a cover, don't keep it pressed against the same bit of skin for too long, as it can cause burns.
- This bottle meets British Standard 1970:2012 and is made from natural rubber.
- Warning: Hot water bottles can cause burns. Avoid prolonged direct contact with skin.
- Please hang on to this packaging for future reference.
