Mid-century inspired furniture
Let us cast your minds back the mid-century - between 1933 and 1965,to be exact - where people liked to loaf about in their homes, but perhaps didn't have a word for it yet. With all those curved and round sofas, funny-shaped coffee tables, and clean geometric lines, their furniture looked fab, being mid-century and all,but it admittedly wasn't always the comfiest.
We're often inspired by vintage mid-century design, except we've decided to comfort max these iconic designs so that they're fit for all your loafing pursuits. By replacing the firm feel of mid mod chairs and sofas with our own soft, sumptuous sits, the result has been an unbeatable hybrid breed of sitting spots for a new generation. Just look at our Groover and Slow Riser sofas, and our Chillback, Slowback and Squishbag Accent Chairs - combining retro style and modern comfort, they're truly the best of all worlds.
Along with mid-century-inspired beds such as our Bagel and Spindle, we've also reinterpreted cabinetry and homewares with our contemporary, laid-back approach. Everything from daybeds and kitchen chairs to coffee tables and side tables have been given a Loafy rethink - in large part thanks to a phenomenal range of fabrics and colour options that really complement the mid-century vibe. Everything passes through the expert hands of the craftspeople who build everything for us - often with protection and guarantees to ensure they go the distance, just as they did back in the day..
If you're on the hunt for mid-century modern rugs, we have pleasingly plush wool rugs in all sorts of colours and textures, like Plushpad, Double Stripey and Weavy. Meanwhile, our Wefty, Zigzaggy and Berber wool blankets combine classic mid-century modern influences with comfort-maxed design and durability. Our mid-century-inspired lighting, includes floor lamps with matt sand-blasted finishes, to cosy table lamps with shapes inspired by organic shapes like waves and ripples.
Our mid-century modern-inspired furniture designs show that the need for a good old-fashioned sit, snooze and general layabout remains unchanged throughout the years, except now your home can look mid mod but feel ridiculously comfy too. Job done.
